Thomas Riley (No.51) was a Yeoman Warder at the Tower from the 15 September 1852 to his death in October 1886.
Thomas was born 1808 Almondbury, Huddersfield, Yorkshire, and enlisted, init the Grenadier Guards 5th September 1826, aged 18, at Huddersfield.
In May 1828 he was promoted to Corporal, June 1832 promoted to Sergeant Jul 1852 promoted to Quartermaster Sergeant.
He was discharged to a pension of 2/3d per day on 14th September 1852. (26 Years)

He was awarded the Land Service & Good Conduct Medal (LS&GC)
He became a Yeoman Warder 15 September 1852 replacing Robert Robertson (No.28)
In 1856 he was living in the Beauchamp Tower with his wife Jane., and died in October 1886 and was buried at Sutton Surrey.
He was replaced by Charles Milton Parker (No.109)
