William Appleton 150, was a Yeoman Warder here at the Tower from 20 April 1902 replacing Yeoman Warder John Leblique, until his death 9th October 1908.

He was born in 1855 in Sonning, Berkshire, he was already a member of the Royal Berkshire Militaria when he enlisted into the Army on the 7 June 1875, joining the Royal Engineers Army Number 13001.

On his discharge at Aldershot on the 8th June 1896 he was a Warrant Officer (W0 2) the 1st Division Telegraph Battalion.

 

 

 

He became a Yeoman Warder on the 20 April 1902 although he did not move into the Tower until around 1906, he died 9th October 1908, (aged 53) he lived at No 7 Tower Green.

He had married a Lydia Averilla Watford (b 1867 d ?) on the 23 November 1887 at Cronwell, Hants, they had three children

On the 1891 Census he was living in Aldershot, and on the 1901 Census he is living in Woking, he moves into the Tower around 1906.
